Back to School
It's been a long time since I've had this much fun watching a movie. This is movie is very funny and it has a lot of heart. I wasn't a huge Rodney Dangerfield fan before I watched this movie but I really am one now. I will have to watch this movie again just to get the one liners that I missed the first time around. Back to school is goofy, and zany and outlandish but it is not shallow. The most surprising thing about it is that it's a lot smarter than I expected it to be. Two major themes in this film are the importance of education and the fact that people can do anything if they set there mind to it. Too many of today's comedies are goofy and zany but at their core they are shallow and empty (Judd Apatow's movies are an exception). I'm not saying that these movies aren't funny because quite a few of them are, I'm just saying that there not as fun or as memorable as movies like Back to School. Another great thing about Back to School is Burt Young who plays Thorton's driver/bodyguard. He had some really funny lines and he is particularly funny in the bar fight scene. This movie is highly recommended for anyone who enjoys fun care free comedies and just plain good movies in general.
